BLACK LIVES MATTER
Below I have put together various resources I've discovered over the past couple of weeks in light of the recent Black Lives Matter protests. I wouldn't know about much of this or be able to compile this list without the tireless work of the black community. I made this post for myself as much as anyone else to compile a lot of the information I’ve seen so that I can refer back to it - not to take away from those people who have put the work in over the past couple of weeks (and many, many years) putting this stuff out there in the first place.
Master's, The Dissertation
It's finally time for me to do my final Master's post, this one all about my experience writing my dissertation. I did actually cover the whole process relatively closely in these videos, so if you're interested that might be a good place to start.
Productivity Tips
I have a pretty fraught relationship with the concept of productivity. I have that socially inculcated feeling that each and every day of my life should be productive, and if it isn't that I've failed somehow. If it's an unproductive week, even month, this can compound into a seriously real mental health dip. I've been trying to fix this over the past few months (though its bloody hard to unlearn some of this stuff) and to realise you don't always have to be busy, or working.
Master's, Semester Two
Seeing as I did a post about my first semester that you guys can read here, I thought it only made sense to update you all on how I've got on since then. The general theme is much better, though when you're reading this I will be a few weeks into essay deadline madness, so I may be silently cursing my past self for being so positive.
Outfit 005 | Master's, Semester One
I wanted to do a little post gathering together some of my thoughts on the first semester of my Master’s course (and I've popped in the last of the Copenhagen pics, too). To be honest, it ended up a bit whiny. Oops! This is probably going to be one of those things which is more for me than useful for you guys, but I hope I can be even the tiniest bit helpful to those of you who are looking to do a postgraduate course and asked me some questions.
Writing an Undergraduate Dissertation
The title of this post is a little misleading because this is not really going to be a ‘how to’ so much as a few observations I made whilst writing mine. I have already (purposefully) lost much of the experience to the mists of memory and time, but I hope that some of you writing undergraduate dissertations this year might find a little comfort in it. I’m not going to write too much about the content of it because for some strange reason I still feel strangely protective over it and I don’t know if I’m ready to open it up to the world (how ridiculous am I), plus I think it’s so specific it wouldn’t be wholly useful to dwell on it too long.
Undergraduate Uni Round-up
I asked a little while back on Twitter whether you guys would like to have me talk a little more generally about my experience as an undergraduate at the University of Edinburgh, and the response was a resounding yes.
